‘The state of Virginia is set to pass a law which would allow anti-LGBT business owners to bar gay people, purely on the basis of their sexuality’.

  • ‘The Virginia Bill states that anyone seeking or holding a business license from the state of Virginia in the state can refuse service or entry to gay people, on the grounds it “would violate the religious or moral convictions of such person with respect to same-sex “marriage” or homosexual behavior.”

‘This would make it lawful for LGBT people to be barred from hotels, restaurants, schools, hospitals, and any other premise where a good or service is exchanged by someone who dislikes their sexual orientation’:

“Want to buy a bed? Prove you’re not sharing it with a member of the same sex”.

Court Rejects Utah’s Ban on Gay Marriage: Supreme Court Decision Will Hopefully Be Next

Based on what I’ve read in this article about an appeals court rejecting Utah’s ban on gay marriage, I’m hopeful that the US Supreme Court will finally decide to take on a gay marriage case. With the striking down of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the Supreme Court stopped just short of declaring that every state in the union must allow gay marriage. As a result, gay rights advocates have been forced  to try to get same-sex marriage legalized one state at a time.

Ellen DeGeneres Does LGBT Community Proud at the Oscars

At this year’s Oscars, Ellen DeGeneres took a “selfie” photo with some of the many stars on hand at the ceremonies she hosted. These celebs seemed genuinely excited to take the picture with her, which says to me that people are becoming more and more comfortable and accepting of gays and lesbians. I’m very, very proud of her for her bravery and achievements as an “out” lesbian. You go girl!
