I found out about this movie from another blogger, Leisure Guy.

Before viewing the documentary, I truly felt that it was unlikely that the government would not only have the engineering/mechanical capability to fake the cause of the massive plane crash in 1996 in which over 200 people perished, but that it would have the nerve to do so. Wouldn’t it be cruel to lie to the families and friends of the victims? Wouldn’t it be illegal and immoral to lie to the American people and to the world?

After viewing the video, I now feel that it is extremely likely that the U.S. government, by way of the FBI and CIA, did cover up the true cause of the crash. The documentary was put together by physicist Dr Tom Stalcup who, after hearing the news reports of the crash, felt that something was sickeningly fishy about the media reports of the crash. Through his personal, independent research, he found that not 10 or 15, but up to 700 witnesses saw essentially the same thing that night while looking up at the sky in the moments before, during and after the crash. That the witnesses’s stories are consistent with each other, and that government agencies involved in the investigation of the crash came up with an altogether different conclusion is baffling. It leads one to wonder why. What is the government trying to hide?

The crash of TWA Flight 800 happened in 1996, but the documentary was made in 2013 (or 2012) after Dr. Stalcup completed his independent investigation. That, and the fact that we are currently going through our own little cover up in the form of the NSA spying story, makes this film all the more relevant today.

    Without having viewed the film, is there a sense that the families of those who died in the crash and Dr. Stalcup are in agreement that something is very wrong which must be righted? It seems there are too many cases where years go by as legitimate evidence/concerns are not being addressed.

    • The film actually shows witnesses of the crash and families of victims saying that the investigation yielded results that didn’t make sense to them. The petition came about because of the efforts of Dr. Stalcup, the investigators from the original investigation that spoke out about what they believe is a cover up, witnesses of the crash who were willing to speak up, and families of the victims of the crash. That’s why this petition is so important. The families of the victims deserve to hear the truth, so that’s what they are looking for.

  2. I heard about this documentary several weeks ago. Of the 700 witnesses, I wonder how many of them saw a streak of light moving up towards the airliner. The 230 death certificates which haven’t been finalized yet is very peculiar. At the time of the incident, I questioned why the federal government worked so hard to get a reenactment video released to the public quickly. Also, were there any notable passengers on board that might have been assassination targets?

    • A big part of the documentary talks about witness reports. Nearly every witness stated that before the plane went down, they saw a streak of light coming from what seemed to be either the ground or the water. Nearly all of them say the streak seemed to either hit the plane and explode, or explode near the plane. The other common thread in the witness statements is the use of the words “missile,” “firecracker,” and “rocket” in describing the streak. Most witnesses used one or more of those terms in their statements to the original investigators (inc. the FBI), as well as for the documentary.

      I’m glad you mentioned the gov’t video- the CIA created the video shown during it’s press release after deeming the crash an “electrical failure.” The video shows a re-enactment of the crash. In it, the plane experiences electrical problems that damage one of the plane’s wings, causing the wing to explode. When the wing exploded and started to fall, the nose of the plane then detached from the force of the explosion. At that point, the plane was essentially cut in half, with the nose falling down. The part of the animation that the producer of the film (who was also the one independently investigating the crash), as well as the “whistle blowers” (who were part of the original investigation) disagreed with is what the govt said happened next- the back end of the plane, once detached from the nose, briefly ascended before falling down. The video states that it was the ascending back end that witnesses saw as a streak of light, because both sections of the plane were in flames by that point.

      The whistle blowers and the independent investigator got together and all concluded that it would be mechanically impossible for a plane to behave like that in an explosion. Witnesses also took issue with the video because they say the video dismissed their accounts of a streak of light coming from the ground or water. The govt had tons of records of all the witness statements, but ignored them.

      As for your question about a person meant to be a target, the documentary unfortunately doesn’t go much into that. I wish they did because it’s a reasonable possibility that the govt was targeting a specific person or group of people. What makes the crash seem even more like a planned attack is that some witnesses say they saw two streaks. A few even said they saw three, including a man who was flying a plane in the area! If there was more than one streak, it’s very hard to believe they weren’t missiles.
